Zendaya's vintage Mugler robot suit
Zendaya is a main character of Dune: Part Two and she brought the same 'main character energy' when she entered the sand stage of the London premiere wearing a vintage archival bodysuit from Thierry Mugler's autumn/winter '95 collection (originally worn on the runway by Swedish model Emma Wiklund). Law Roach, her now-retired stylist, truly knows how to create headlines – and Halloween costume inspiration.

Emily in Paris: An ode to Truman Capote and Audrey Hepburn
Whether or not you have seen the latest season of Emily in Paris, you have most likely encountered glimpses of the Baccarat Ball scenes where she wears a show-stopping striped Harris Reed for Nina Ricci look. According to Reed, the look pays homage to both Truman Capote's infamous 1966 Black and White Ball and Audrey Hepburn's portrayal of My Fair Lady's Eliza Dolittle. So take your cues from Emily and grab your catsuit, hat and mask to add some stylish drama this Halloween.

Sand-sculpted Tyla at the Met Gala
No pop-culture round-up is complete without a stand out look from the year's Met Gala. In 2024, Tyla's custom-made sand-inspired look by Balmain takes the cake, and is easily replicated with a soft beige-hued ensemble and, of course, an hourglass clutch. To truly emulate Tyla, you can chop the lower half of your dress off when the Halloween party dance floor kicks off.

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter
When Beyoncé releases a new album, the world listens. This time, it was a new concept album drop inspired by the world of country music, that had even the most die-hard rap and hip-hop fans joining in for a line dance. So dust off your old leather books, throw together some red, white and blue and giddy up 'Cowboy Carter' style this Halloween.

Chappell Roan's magical stage looks

Looking for a man in finance, trust fund, 6'5", blue eyes...
A man in finance: this simple professional classification took on a whole new meaning this year, as the TikTok sound reverberated around the world (with the added requirements of blue eyes, trust fund and 6'5 height). But when Halloween rolls around, you don't need to look for one – you can be one. Our costume inspiration is pop culture's all-time favourite man in finance: American Psycho's Patrick Bateman.

Truls Möregårdh
The very moment that Swedish Truls Möregårdh entered the Olympic stage in Paris this summer, ping-pong fever took hold of the Nordics and beyond. Mesmerising audiences with the tension of his unprecedented wins against top-ranked world champions, Möregårdh – with his streamlined Uniqlo-designed uniform and beaming smile – won the heart of audiences worldwide. It's one of the easiest looks to emulate, but don't forget your bat.
Rachael Gunn, aka Raygun
The Olympic Games always naturally overlaps with the world of pop culture, but some people really leave an impression. This year, the unforgettable moment came courtesy of Australian breakdancer Rachael Gun, better known as 'Raygun', whose confidently unconventional (and at time, uncoordinated) moves caused an uproar to say the least. If you opt for this costume, don't forget to pull out Raygun's 'kangaroo' hop move.

Brat summer
Out of nowhere, summer 2024 was awash with neon green. We have British musician Charli XCX to thank, with the visuals for her her sixth album Brat inspiring floods of the specific hue – and a 'brat' attitude to go with it. It quickly became one of the most-played albums of the summer, with no shortage of TikTok hype to go with it. Brat was the word on everyone's lips. Our tip? Opt for all black, Charli XCX style, with just a dash of Brat in your accessories.
Mondo & Desiré
Swedish-American champion pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis has not only won the affections of now-fiancée Desiré Inglander, he has won over the world's hearts – breaking record after record with ease, and endearingly showering Inlander in public displays of affection every time. 'Spoonful' of Cate Blanchett
Swedish fashion designer Ellen Hodakova, who was recently awarded the esteemed LVMH Prize, has had many stand out moments during her short career, but one of our favourites was when she dressed Cate Blanchett in a top made of no less than 102 antique spoons for a red carpet event in Los Angeles earlier this year. Creative types with some time to kill can master this look – though it may require some rifling through the cutlery drawers of your local charity or second-hand store.
Pat McGrath's doll-like Maison Margiela beauty
Whilst John Galliano's haute couture collection for Maison Margiela was considered the winner of spring/summer '24 fashion month, Pat McGrath's doll like makeup for the same show earned equal praises amongst the beauty world. Replications of the models' crystal glass skin and doll-like eyeshadow were inescapable – with many determined to figure out how exactly McGrath had achieved the otherwordly makeup effect. Over a week after the show, the makeup artist divulged her secret: liquid glass.
The Bieber's pregnancy announcement
Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber welcomed their baby to the world in August of this year, but arguably, the news of their pregnancy in the spring was more memorable. Shooting a video especially for the social media announcement, Hailey wore a custom, full-length white lace look courtesy of Saint Laurent.
Robot baby at Paris Couture Week
Fredrik Robertsson – well-known as Sweden's biggest haute couture collector – is not hard to miss at fashion week, consistently delivering outlandish and show-stopping looks. But his appearance at Paris Haute Couture Week's Schiaparelli show took things to a whole new level, with Robertsson adopting a giant bedazzled robot baby – an accessory from the previous season's Couture runway – for a major 'fashion daddy' moment-
The Crow with Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs
After premiering in August, The Crow is still smoking hot with international buzz, making it worthy of our 2024 pop culture list. Starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, the reimagining of the '90s cult classic is riddled with easy costume inspiration – starting with some heavy-duty boots and temporary tattoos.
