According to Acne Studios, pants are out for AW25

There was something conspicuously absent from the Acne Studios autumn/winter 2025 runway: pants. Not only did the show open and close with a cheeky long-sleeved bodysuit, the collection featured new and inventive ways to ditch pants throughout. A hooded technical jacket unzipped from the bottom with thigh-high boots? Why not. An oversized lusekofta sweater worn as a dress? Sure. A silky, pussy-bow blouse-come-body worn with a blazer? Looks like appropriate office attire to us.

While Acne Studios was the most innovative when it came to dressing without pants, plenty of other designers hopped on the no-pants trend for autumn/winter 2025. Versace had a similar take to Acne Studios’ no-pants office dressing, with an oversized blazer topping a silk bodysuit. Everyone was talking about the low-rise jeans at Diesel, but some looks forwent bottoms altogether, instead opting for hot pants that looked more like underwear. Simone Rocha ditched the pants, too, also revelling in a second-skin long-sleeve bodysuit silhouette (theirs, however, was a dainty cardigan paired with matching panty-like shorts).

Come autumn/winter 2025, will you be ready to go pants-free? Here in the Nordics it’s a challenge. Though the Swedes at Acne Studios led the no-pants charge, our climate come autumn doesn’t lend itself especially well to ignoring an entire product category. Luckily there will be an endless selection of decadent faux furs to pair with our no-pants looks (and nobody said anything about ditching stockings). According to the runways thus far, one thing is clear: autumn/winter 2025 is indeed too sexy for its pants.
