The renowned Swedish fashion brand is the latest to achieve the prestigious recognition for its sustainability efforts, underscoring its commitment to creating a better future

Acne Studios is kicking off 2025 with exciting news: the cult-favourite Swedish fashion brand has just announced that it has earned the prestigious B Corp certification. Joining the coveted ranks of other B Corp-certified labels like Ganni, Chloé, Birger Christensen Collective and Mulberry, Acne Studios solidifies its commitment to protecting the health of our planet and advocating for a better future. Given that the fashion industry is among the most polluting in the world, this stamp of approval represents an especially significant triumph.

“As a brand we have a responsibility to foster and drive change, and play our part in creating a more sustainable fashion industry. This is a commitment we have been implementing across all facets of our business, from our design practices to our production, partners and ethical standards,” says Mattias Magnusson, CEO of Acne Studios. “B Corp certification is an achievement that recognises the steps we have taken, and provides us with a rigorous framework to reinforce and accelerate our social and environmental commitment as a progressive luxury business.”

The B Corp certification measures a company’s environmental and societal footprint, honing in on the five key impact areas of governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. Achieving the stamp of approval involves a rigorous application process of over 300 questions, examining every aspect of the business against these criteria. To become B Corp certified, the company must score at least 80 points out of 200. This signifies that the brand is meeting high transparency, accountability and verified performance standards.

For Acne Studios, nabbing the B Corp certification is the result of 24 months of collaborative work across its global teams. It aligns with the brand’s ‘Creative Manifesto’, which “represents shared values and defines a set of nine key sustainability targets, from materials to supply chains, workers’ rights and circular packaging.” The certification provides Acne Studios with a robust framework to guide its future operations as it continues striving for greater impact.
