Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio’s Peter Dundas Couture gown breathes new life into two trends

Just when we thought we’ve reached our saturation point with bows and Barbie pink, Alessandra Ambrosio makes a strong case for both. Yesterday evening, the Brazilian supermodel took to the Cannes red carpet in a floor-sweeping baby pink gown with black bow details courtesy of Norwegian designer Peter Dundas. Paired with a sleek up 'do, simple diamond drop earrings and pointy black pumps, the look proves that both trends deserve a second glance.

Ambrosio’s gown, which she wore to the premiere of Marcello Mio, is somewhat of a palette-cleanser for two trends that had seemingly reached their natural endpoint. The pink is softer, the bows more restrained. With its no-nonsense, body-hugging silhouette, the Dundas gown is more throwback Hollywood glamour than modern Hollywood press tour.

In a slew of standout Cannes red carpet looks, this one is clearly in competition.
