Swathed in custom-made Louis Vuitton silk, the Swedish actress stunned on the red carpet at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures 3rd Annual Gala

Alicia Vikander has become a fixture amongst Louis Vuitton's fashion pantheon. The Swedish actor and former Vogue Scandinavia cover star embodies every aspect of the French heritage brand, flawlessly executing her role as ambassador for the house season after season. Her latest Louis Vuitton look to turn our heads? A transparent number in green silk she sported at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures 3rd Annual Gala.

Vikander's fashion journey with Louis Vuitton is marked by her chameleonic adaptability – from her off-the-runway ready-to-wear looks (such as the floral set and tall suede boots she wore while attending the spring/summer '24 show) as she does sporting an intricate bead dress on the Cannes red carpet.

However, the pièce de résistance might just be the grey-green silk chiffon dress designed by Nicolas Ghesquière. Tapping into the transparent trend, Vikander manages to look fully dressed while wearing next-to-nothing.

Wearing a foundation layer of custom matching undergarments Vikander's silhouette – long-sleeved with a high neckline – added an almost demure air to the overall look. The fabric, overlaid to form flowing micro frills, swathed the Swedish actress in sultry layers of see-through silk.

While so much fabric could easily overpower, Ghesquière and the Louis Vuitton design team skilfully moulded the fabric to fit just-so adding smocked details around the waist and the back train. A labour of love that reportedly took more than 400 hours of work and over 50 metres of fabric.
