Swedish brand Avavav is no stranger to causing a stir on the internet, and this time, it's for a proposal of unique proportions
Every once in a while, there comes an item of clothing that is as divisive as Kalles Kaviar – you either love it or hate it. Think Margiela's Tabi boot or JW Anderson's pigeon bag: these are pieces designed to cause some (friendly) conflict. Now, courtesy of Avavav, there is a new player in the game – the shoulderless hoodie.
While looking like a typical hoodie at first glance, with acid wash and a relaxed cut, it is only when the hood goes up that the unique cut of the jumper is revealed. Shoulders are foregone, with one continuous seam connecting the arms to the hood resulting in a perpetual shrug. This one, however, won't cramp your traps.

Understandably, this may not be the item for everyone, especially those who consider their shoulders a winning feature. However, there is a playfulness to the proportions – not to mention the right level of cosy comfort that we're seeking as autumn settles in.
Shop the hoodie on avavav.com from Friday 23rd August
