The Swedish brand has called upon its internal talents to appoint Jens Werner to the creative helm
Ten years after he co-founded the well-loved, much-hyped brand Axel Arigato, Max Svärdh is stepping down from his role as creative director. Keeping the position in the family, the Swedish brand tapped its head of ready-to-wear, Jens Werner, to take over the role. Svärdh, meanwhile, will remain a member of the board and a co-owner of the brand. Werner first began at Axel Arigato in 2021, and has an impressive resume of design work, from Y-3 at Adidas to Tory Sport to J.Lindeberg.
Commenting on the appointment, the brand's CEO Albin Johansson says, "Across the last three years, Jens has been a pivotal force in shaping Axel Arigato; His appointment to creative director comes at a time of radical growth and transformation for the brand. We're excited to see his new creative vision come to life and to start this next step of the journey together."

Indeed, Werner’s self-taught design trajectory, skate background, and history of working to modernise brands should serve Axel Arigato well. With an eye for timeless finesse and a minimalistic sensibility, we can’t wait to see where Werner takes the brand.
