We tap the beauty creatives backstage to get the lowdown on how to recreate Saks Potts' runway-ready glow
At Saks Potts, a girl gang with 'It'-girl status gathered backstage to get ready for the brand's Kate Moss-inspired autumn/winter '24 show. Working with early '00s references, head makeup artist Rikke Dengsø Jensen and facialist Tarryn Warren got to work prepping and priming the models – a line up that included the likes of Stella Maxwell and Tish Weinstock.
As we all know, a great makeup look kicks off with good skin. And at Saks Potts, the models were treated to one-of-a-kind facials, curated specifically for their skin, backstage. This was followed by a rigorous hydrating, and barrier-protecting regimen pre make-up to create the effervescent light, bright, and illuminating look we saw walking down the runway.
As for the step-by-step, the beauty squad backstage first applied the Soothing & Barrier support Serum to target any irritation and boost skin hydration. "For a super glowy skin finish, which radiates light, we applied the Natural Moisturising Factors + PhytoCeramides to seal everything in," says Densgø Jensen. " Finally, we tapped in the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Seed Oil to the cheekbones."

As for the finishing touches, Byredo was spotted backstage with its arsenal of the newly launched Liquid Lipstick Matte collection, the kajal pencil Kali Kali, sculptural mascaras, and multi-use Colour Sticks, just to name a few.
The overall look leaned towards the matte, with powdery lipsticks and dusty eyelids (fittingly reminiscent of the early '00s) washing over the glowy skin prep. “In the Liquid Lipsticks, there is an idea of movement and sensuality," noted Lucia Pica, Byredo's creative image and makeup partner. "There is a certain stripping away of extraneous elements. I wanted to get in touch with that side of myself as well as bring other people to this point.”

Your step-by-step guide to the Saks Potts facial
"The backstage facials were designed to gently cleanse the skin and offer hydration to coincide with the application of makeup, leaving the skin soft and deeply cleaned," notes the show's lead facialist Tarryn Warren.
1. Get yourself squeaky clean
Wiping away SPF and makeup, Warren cleansed began the facial with The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser, scrubbing way that palpable fashion week stress.
2. Dose up on moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid
"I followed the cleanser with Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, which was massaged into the skin to aid hydration and help to plump the skin," shares Warren.
3. Relief tension with the added benefit of squalane
Using 100% Plant-Derived Squalane, Warren massaged the product in thoroughly to "relieve facial water retention" helping to define the models' natural facial features.
4. Get to work with your gua sha
"Finally, I worked the gua-sha deep into the facial tissue to ease sinuses and give the skin that post facial glow ready for the runway."
