In the storied halls of Stockholm’s Konstnärshuset, Scandinavia’s beauty savants clinked their glasses to Bangerhead’s ‘Beautiful Reasons’ in a toast to the new self-care season
Konstnärshuset, a Stockholm landmark carved from Portland limestone with clover-leaf windows, mosaics, and a crowning balustrade, set the scene for a lively gathering hosted by Bangerhead – the one-stop-shop for Nordic beauty favourites. On the top floor, the gallery, with its classic oak parquet, white walls, and impressive 70 square metre skylight, became the perfect backdrop for the beauty soirée, dressed up by burgundy hortensias, black calla lilies and blood-red birds of paradise.
As guests sipped sangiovese and riesling, indulged in olives nestled in stainless steel martini glasses, and helped themselves to abundant charcuterie boards, Vogue Scandinavia's beauty and fashion news editor, Josefin Forsberg, moderated a lively, beauty-themed discussion. Joining her was Malin Falk, Bangerhead’s head of brand and communications and certified beauty aficionado; Sandra Hermansson, salon manager at Bangerhead Studio and skincare therapist; and Sandra Seiler, head of customer relations and a trained hairdresser.
The conversation spotlighted Bangerhead’s new concept and the theme of the evening: ‘Beautiful Reasons.’ “Beautiful Reasons is our philosophy: every product in our range should bring something special, something worth coming back to,” Falk told the crowd. “We are passionate about creating an inspiring space where our customers can find their own 'beautiful reasons' and feel truly seen.”
For the occasion, the Bangerhead team selected 10 stand-out products – ‘Beautiful Reasons’ – to help transition our beauty routines for the chilly winter days ahead. During the talk, Hermansson highlighted the importance of active products in the colder months. “My go-to combination is Augustinus Bader’s The Skin Infusion, which strengthens my skin’s resilience, paired with Allies of Skin's 0.05 per cent Retinal & Peptides Repair Night Cream for a targeted approach,” she shared. “I don’t forget body care either, using Bodyologist’s Night Glove Regenerating Body Cream, followed by a moisture boost from Susanne Kaufmann’s Marigold Body Oil to protect against the dry, cold air.”
Seiler praised the power of hair oils during the seasonal shift. “Cold weather can be harsh on hair, so an extra boost of hydration and nutrition is essential,” she said. “Sisley’s Intense Nutrition Mask, with its blend of exclusive oils, is perfect for this.” To lock in moisture post-shower, Seiler recommended applying Oribe’s Gold Lust Hair Oil to damp hair. “Think of it like water in a glass – if left uncovered, it evaporates, but with a layer of oil, the moisture stays,” she explained. Finally, Seiler says she can’t face winter frizz without ghd's Duet Blow Dry – 2-in-1 Hair Dryer. “I believe it is a must-have in any long-haired person’s winter arsenal.”
Falk, embracing what she called her “Lana Del Rey era,” shared her winter staples: By Terry’s Ombre Blackstar eyeshadow in a new matte finish and Hourglass’s Phantom Gloss – a nourishing, high-pigment balm perfect for bold, dramatic looks. For fragrance, she leaned toward something smoky and intriguing. “Story of Your Life by Etat Libre d'Orange feels like my soulmate for the colder season,” she said.
