They're the songs that every Swede knows like the back of their hand. In an homage to the late, great poet and musician Carl Michael Bellman, Vogue Scandinavia assembles its very own tribute band to breathe new life into his works
Surrounded by the candle-lit, 18th century interiors of Den Gyldene Freden sits an eclectic group, dressed in various array of period garb. Some are familiar faces, like Swedish musician Jocke Åhlund and artist Jockum Nordström. They're joined by other musicians, poets and actors to form what Vogue Scandinavia proudly presents as a Carl Michael Bellman tribute band.
It's a fitting setting for the group's one-of-a-kind performance, as the pub was once Bellman's very own haunt.
