For his eponymous brand's autumn/winter '25 lineup, Frederik Berner Kühl went for "no drama, no shouting, just a pleasing moment of inner calm, embraced by a crisp idea of shelter and sharp silhouettes"

This season, Berner Kühl is going back to where it all started. “We called the collection ‘Via Delle Campora’. It’s the street I lived on, when studying my masters in Firenze,” Frederik Berner Kühl, the founder of the Danish brand explains. “It’s very much in this location that all the initial thoughts for Berner Kühl were born. And that’s what I wanted to revisit with this collection – trying to be very pure and true to what I initially wanted.”

Showcased in an intimate, reimagined salon format at the label’s flagship store in central Copenhagen, Berner Kühl aimed for attendees to engage with the garments on a tactile level, witnessing the AW25 offering in motion as the pieces come to life. The line-up, fittingly, returns to the fundamentals of crafting great clothing, spotlighting craftsmanship, premium fabrications and tailoring. “It’s walking that fine line between boring and super interesting. Something that looks very classic, but might be constructed in a complex way, or stuff that you have to explore further to fully understand,” says Berner Kühl. Hence the desire for the presentation-goers to mingle with the collection up close and personal.

Staying true to the brand’s design DNA – where practicality meets polish, with timelessness and versatility as its North Star – AW25 sees Berner Kühl double down on the modular wardrobe. Winter-proof puffer jackets pair as well with straight-fit tailored trousers as they do with slouchy jeans. Neutral-hued knits fashioned from fuzzy alpaca and velvety cashmere mesh effortlessly with the low-key cotton long-sleeves and boxy lightweight jackets. Elevating the look is easy – opt for A-shaped wool and cashmere coats finessed with sharp cuts, or go full business-mode in dapper two-piece suits, coupled with silk dinner shirting, all crafted from deadstock materials.

As Berner Kühl puts it: “[The autumn/winter collection features] outfits and garments meant to be worn day in day out, from morning till night, offering a wardrobe with an elevated feel, and an aura of effortlessness. No drama, no shouting, just a pleasing moment of inner calm, embraced by a crisp idea of shelter and sharp silhouettes.”
