Tramonto

Italian for sunset, Tramonto doesn't disappoint as an ideal perch for watching the sun go down, with panoramic vistas of Copenhagen below. This marvellous restaurant and bar is not just known for its views however, with a rich wine list of more than 50 different bottles, cocktails infused with the sunny taste of of the Mediterranean, plus a food menu that fuses Italian flavours with playful Nordic twists and features one of the best burratas in town.

Located on the rooftop of Hotel Otilla, which was once a Carlsberg brewery, Tramonto is one of the most idyllic places in Copenhagen to slowly sip on a beverage in the open air.

Sanders Roof Terrace

As you walk onto the terrace at the Hotel Sanders, hygge permeates your very being. Lush green plants and wicker chairs create an ambience of bohemia, while round marble tables and some sharp lines add a touch of Nordic minimalism to the experience. With limited seating and a glass-covered roof, it’s a great destination for a little tête-a-tête come rain or shine, and with natural light and atmospheric views guaranteed all year round, it's no wonder that the bar is a favourite among locals.

The hotel's award-winning cocktail bar Tata helps provide the alcoholic mixes on the menu, with each drink coming with a twist such as edible accoutrements or theatre-related references that pay homage to the Royal Danish Theatre, which is just up the road. Illum’s Rooftop

Just a short stroll away from Sanders, llum’s Rooftop is without doubt the most diverse Copenhagen terrace option. Located on the fourth floor of Illum, one of the most spectacular luxury department stores in Scandinavia, the rooftop hosts a mouthwatering range of eateries, where different cultures, tastes and aromas mingle to an ambient beat.

Kindred Spirits Rooftop Bar

In Amager, Zoku Copenhagen hosts one the largest public rooftop spaces in the city and is most notably home to Kindred Spirits Rooftop Bar. From dusk till dawn, a vibrant, summery energy is served through coffee, beer, wine – red, white, orange and rosé – and an abundance of refreshing gin and tonics. Under an open sky and surrounded by colourful outdoor furniture, the rooftop encapsulates the true essence of Danish summertime.

Nimb Roof

Tivoli Gardens is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Copenhagen. It’s a world full of rollercoasters, cotton candy, pastels and arcades, a world where you channel the spirited vitality of your inner-child. Restaurant Silo

This building’s futuristic, cubist façade leaves many a visitor in awe – but wait until you step inside. As you make your way across the oak floors, clean silhouettes, plush red sofas and impressive windows greet you. And once you enter onto the terrace, your eyes are met with mesmerising views of the city, water and sky.

The Silo is home to 39 concrete-walled apartments that epitomise Nordic minimalism and craftsmanship, and against the background of Nordhavn’s harbour the building has become an architectural landmark. On the 17th floor sits Restaurant Silo, an exquisite eatery and an opportunity for all of Copenhagen to experience life inside the building.

Manon’s Rooftop

Last but by no means least, Manon’s Rooftop is a small hidden gem that may well make its way to the top of your list. Overlooking the Copenhagen Lakes, the bar's views are spectacular. Combining a Balinese warmth with Nordic simplicity, the rooftop hosts a four storey wooden decking area furnished with pillows and summer beds for a slow afternoon of relaxation.

As the day wears one and fruity cocktails are added to the equation, the terrace comes alive with a vibrant, festive charm. Visitors can soak up the sun and the hip, beachy ambiance while sipping a sweet cocktail to a background of summery jazz and upbeat anthems.
