Suited, booted and buckled up, the Swedish actor and his costars wore suitably dark and subversive ensembles to toast the release of the gothic revenge reboot The Crow
From his role as nightmare clown Pennywise to his stint as criminal Clark Olofsson of Stockholm Syndrome notoriety, Bill Skarsgård's acting repertoire has an evil streak that runs deep. Now, the 34-year-old continues his run of villainous portrayals as the titular character of The Crow, based on a graphic novel series of the same name by author James O’Barr. Skarsgård is the second actor to take on the macabre role, following Brandon Lee in the original 1994 film adaption (who tragically died on-set when a firearm malfunctioned).
This latest remake by director Rupert Sanders, set to be released across Scandinavia later this month, brings a new stylised twist to the gothic cult classic — which was reflected in the casts' looks at the premiere in New York this week. Skarsgård looked the part in a full Prada look rendered in black and shadowy greys, finished with a single buckle detail.

Co-star FKA Twigs, who plays Skarsgård's fiancé Shelly Webster, also took a suitably sinister route with her styling: donning a vintage Armani dress, a finger-moulded clutch, and wooden accessories. To complete the gothic glam look, the star opted for bleached brows, a buzzcut and claw-like headpiece.
Noticeably absent from The Crow's premiere proceedings in New York was Finnish actor Laura Birn, who plays Marian –the right-hand woman of a demonic crime lord – building even more anticipation for her long-awaited appearance on the big screen.
