This season, the flower-fuelled Norwegian brand ByTiMo served its usual garden of lush looks with brunost, pastries and exciting news
ByTiMo is best understood by a visit to the brand's showroom. There, in the heart of the company, you'll find a vast archive of vintage pieces to inspire new designs, daintily painted porcelain, ornate screens, branded scented candles and a lush forest of fashionable occasion wear. More home than office, this is where the brand welcomes guests during its Oslo Runway breakfast this year – complete with fresh berries, flaky pastries and brunost.
The aforementioned archive is always the main form of inspiration for founder and designer Tine Mollatt. "Tine has collected for nearly forty years, so the collection is big, yet very curated," shares Tine's daughter and the brand's marketing manager Elisa. She pinpoints how "something as small as a pretty little detail, the fabric, the print or the whole silhouette itself" can be traced back to the many racks of fashion history.
Considering her background as a tailor and costume designer, fit is paramount to Tine. At ByTiMo, the goal is always to find silhouettes that "flatter a variety of women for every occasion in life." For the spring/summer '25 collection, this meant cross-over cropped blouses and ruffled necklines, sweeping pleated skirts, and gathered sleeves — all realised in the brand’s signature florals.
Fragments of antique textiles appear throughout the collection, alongside crisp cottons and delicate organza for those moments when dressing up is a must. The colour palette features the usual suspects for ByTiMo: pink, purple, yellow, and a dusty blue. But these shades mingle with more grounded tone, spanning safari khakis and earthy greens.
Some of the most exciting news, however, came with the introduction of two new categories for the brand; jewellery and swimwear. "Most of our Spring Summer collections tends to be quite dressed up and occasion wear driven; this collections meets the byTiMo girl at more events in her life, from work to a regular day," shares Elisa.
