Caro Editions - AW25

By Clare McInerney

Caroline Bille Brahe's Caro Editions makes a triumphant return to the Copenhagen Fashion Week runway, further cementing her brand's charm and credibility

“I never want a winter collection that is only black and grey,” says Caroline Bille Brahe, founder and creative director of Caro Editions, speaking on her brand's highly anticipated second runway outing.

After its spirited debut last August proved a highlight of the season, Bille Brahe knew she had set the bar high. “The first show was such a burst of energy, we worried how we could do it all over again.” she says. “But we are freewheeling kind of people who know what we are doing but also follow our instincts.” It helps that Bille Brahe is one of the city’s veteran cool kids with an intuitive sense of how to cluster colours, patterns, fabrics and embellishments in a way that oozes character and charm.

For autumn/winter ’25, or Caro Editions’ 'Collection 06’, her intuition led to a more self-assured play on the brand’s signature whimsy. The tailoring more defined, the fabrications more serious – note the weightly velvets, Harris Tweed checks and deadstock Chanel tweeds – topped with the now signature 'Garden Hat'. True to Bille Brahe's word there is barely any black or grey in sight, instead, hues inspired by freshly fallen autumn leaves.

That’s not to say there wasn’t some playful and unpredictable Caro in there, with Bille Brahe joining her convoy of models to close the show amidst a froth of floating bubbles.
