Make memories and gift art, fashion and culture this festive season with the latest edition of Vogue Scandinavia
Vogue Scandinavia ends the year with the launch of its third edition, highlighting rising Swedish model Malaika Holmén as their cover star. Malaika, who represents a new generation of Scandinavian models, appears exclusively in menswear, both on the cover and throughout the editorial. Gender fluidity and inclusivity is explored and celebrated throughout the issue.
“In fashion we don’t care if it’s for men or women, it’s just if you like it. We want to celebrate that anyone can wear anything”, says editor-in-chief Martina Bonnier.
As part of this new generation of Scandi talent, Malaika Holmén is breaking boundaries as the first model of colour to ever appear on the cover of the Nordic edition of Vogue. “Growing up it would have meant so much to me to have seen a person of colour on a cover like this in Sweden – it would have inspired me and I am sure many others. Being the first model of colour to be featured on a Vogue Scandinavia cover is a true honour for me personally and a celebration of the wonderful diversity and positivity in the world we live in today. A future with representation for all and a global connection is so exciting and important to me and the next generation. We are all connected as humans regardless of looks, gender, colour, beliefs, passions — the key is respect and celebration of uniqueness, let's come together. Listen to new stories, seek out new perspectives, hold hands, be inspired, grow,” says Holmén.
