The Danish brand’s spring/summer ‘25 collection continues the label’s “dance between masculinity and femininity”

The intimate space of Gallery Bien Contemporary in central Copenhagen saw a fashion-forward crowd flock to its blank-walled room as MLGA unveiled its spring/summer ’25 collection in a gripping two-hour showcase. As the label’s fourth line-up, the latest offering builds upon previous collections, further cementing MLGA’s technical prowess and defining the brand’s design DNA.

“This new collection continues to explore the delicate interplay between feminine and masculine aspects while pushing creative boundaries further,” says founder and creative director Marie-Louise Guldbæk Andersen. Entitled ‘Exorior,’ a Latin word meaning ‘rise, appear, come forth,’ the SS25 offering marks the evolution of the neo-menswear brand, challenging traditional notions of masculinity and conventional men’s fashion with its fragile yet daring approach.

Harnessing deadstock and surplus fabrics, the spring/summer line-up features chunky, handcrafted distressed knitwear, boxy and oversized tailoring, and slinky, sheer textured shirts – all testaments to MLGA’s forward-thinking vision for menswear. Floral embroidery, flared silhouettes, and cropped cuts subtly infuse femininity into styles that otherwise exude a masculine feel. The colour palette plays between light and dark, nodding to one of the main inspirations behind the collection: The Sun King, or Louis XIV, whom Guldbæk Andersen dubs “a historical fashion icon.” “Like The Sun King, we strive to create distinctive pieces that stand out and radiate a strong sense of identity,” she notes.
