Rising through fashion's ranks with its mastery of deconstruction and repurposing of otherwise defunct materials, the Danish based brand now joins equally promising peers in Copenhagen Fashion Week's coveted NewTalent scheme

The headline acts of Copenhagen Fashion Week - think Rotate and Marimekko – always pack a punch, but the crew of burgeoning brands of the NewTalent scheme are increasingly stealing the show. Described by Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week, as "directional new voices", NewTalent recipients (each in business for less than five years) are pioneering talents forming the next generation of Nordic Talent.

With the autumn/winter '25 program fast approaching, Copenhagen Fashion Week has now unveiled the four recipients of the season. Most notable is the entrance of buzzy Bonnetje to the scheme, following the Danish brand's runway debut in August: a showcase of off-kilter tailoring that cemented the design duo's visionary approach and meticulous execution.

“NewTalent is a vital pillar for Copenhagen Fashion Week, supporting key Nordic visionary talent at a critical juncture in their growth," Thorsmark says, describing how the scheme aims to support recipients via "mentoring, showcasing and financial support: a three-tiered structure to guide their own evolution from flourishing creatives into reputable businesses.”

"We are incredibly grateful and honoured to be part of the NewTalent scheme," say Bonnetje's founders Anna Myntekær and Yoko Maja Rahbek Hansen. "We admire Copenhagen Fashion Week's commitment to supporting emerging brands and prioritising sustainability," they go on, crediting the opportunity gives them to showcase to "key leaders in the industry.”

Bonnetje's first showcase as a NewTalent recipient will coincide with the second from Berner Kühl. Meanwhile, Stamm and Alectra Rothschild / Masculina will present their third and final showcases as part of the scheme.

For Frederik Berner Kühl, the support of NewTalent for his eponymous brand is invaluable. "As a small brand, it's all about expanding your reach, and NewTalent gives you that chance.” "It's such an honour to showcase an alternative vision of Scandinavian fashion," chimes in Alectra Rothschild, "and represent something unique. I'm thrilled to present these shows to a global audience and truly cherish the opportunity.”

Giving greater space to the NewTalent initiative, which was introduced in 2023, is a dedicated AW25 showroom that will provide global industry leaders with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the quartet of brands participating in the scheme.
