Sinéad O’Dwyer – SS25

By Linnéa Pesonen

The Irish designer's spring/summer '25 show brought a breath of free-spirited air to the Danish capital with her guest spot on the Copenhagen Fashion Week roster

The Zalando Visionary Award 2024 winner, Irish designer Sinéad O’Dwyer, turned up the heat in the Danish capital, making her debut at Copenhagen Fashion Week with her eponymous brand’s spring/summer ’25 collection. Staged in the scenic Opera Parken, O’Dwyer’s sensual universe enveloped the lush greenery as models sauntered through swirling pathways to musician Cosha reading a poem by Anastasiia Fedorova, accompanied by otherworldly sounds.

Sculptures derived from 3D scans of O’Dwyer’s cast works of artist Jade O’Belle were sprinkled down the runway, further emphasising the label’s ethos of celebrating all bodies and feminine expression. The brand’s unwavering dedication to inclusivity was also evident in the diverse casting – a given for the label – and the SS25 spectacle. In collaboration with the Hair and Care Foundation, the show brought the experience to life for blind and low-vision guests and even saw blind activist Lucy Edwards walk the runway with her guide dog – a first for CPHFW.

Entitled ‘Everything Opens To Touch’, the SS25 line-up zeroes in on the brand’s signature form-flaunting silhouettes, with standout second-skin pieces showcasing O’Dwyer’s intricate latticework – a hallmark of her designs. Flouncy frocks, micro-mini hemlines, keyhole cutouts, and ultra-high slits populate the sultry yet refined collection. Elsewhere, sculpted denim pieces in rich indigo beautifully accentuate the wearer’s contours, while pops of zingy chartreuse add a refreshing twist to the palette of khakis and luxe browns. While some models emerged barefoot, others sported chunky thong sandals and strappy bubble-soled ballerina-sneaker hybrids inspired by the Irish dancing scene – next summer’s It-shoe in the making.
