The most exciting Swedish next-gen talents showcased their graduate collections at Copenhagen Fashion Week
Like the Royal Danish Academy, the graduating students from the Swedish School of Textiles had the privilege of unveiling their final collections at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Both Bachelor’s and Master’s students, 16 graduates in total, sent their line-ups down the runway at The Plant, a lofty industrial space just off Copenhagen harbour. Innovative, technically-savvy and statement-making, the collections marked the pinnacle of their academic endeavours, highlighting the expertise, craftsmanship, and creative brilliance they’ve honed throughout their studies.
Louise Arvidsson explored life’s various stages, weaving a symbolic narrative with latex, silicone, and even hair, creating cutting-edge, structural pieces. Pia Erdt tackled the ever-familiar traveller’s plight: how to maximise a suitcase’s potential, designing for nomads perpetually on the move. Hugo Ehret, on the other hand, crafted fluid silhouettes from hand-knit paper yarn, resulting in dynamic pleated and folded marvels. Meanwhile, Alice Andrade’s eco-conscious ‘Morphing Entries’ turned post-consumer waste into awe-inducing architectural garments, thanks to her unconventional pattern-making prowess.
