Toying with classic staples, Diemonde presented a collection that went beyond the streets
Diemonde's signature style spearhead their autumn/winter 2022 collection. Designed during the pandemic, the unpredictable circumstances were the norm the brand set out to broaden the scope of streetwear. Toying with classic staples in the sartorial subculture – like tracksuit silhouettes and zipper detailing – the brand blends these elements with army-inspired garments and elevated fabric choices.
The idea of a uniform is formed in a cropped trench coat in lightly waxed cotton twill, while another stand out is a navy tracksuit made from 80 per cent 'seaqual', derived from ocean polluting plastic. Sets were also seen throughout the collection, in bright oranges and sleek black. Waists are cinched with drawstrings, and workwear vests are layered to complete the ensembles.
Notably, the detailing is what is key to the collection. Asymmetrical vent seams and pocket flaps catch our eyes, while the unfinished hem of the trench coat retains the streetwear cool of the brand's exploration into tailoring.
