The beloved shoe brand has just opened the doors to its very first store in Sweden, marking a major Nordic milestone for the label

Stockholm visitors and city dwellers might notice something different on their next stroll along Drottninggatan, in the bustling heart of the Swedish capital. A new – well, not exactly new, but rather iconic – brand has taken over the coveted space as Dr. Martens opens its first-ever store in Sweden. Spanning across 118 square metres, the store marks the second stomping ground for the label in Scandinavia, following the launch of its Copenhagen flagship last year.

Designed by Manchester-based Studio OL3, the same masterminds behind the Danish flagship, the store features an industrial vibe with dark walls, oak flooring, and zesty yellow accents – perfectly in sync with Dr. Martens’ signature aesthetic seen in all of its global locations. Shoppers will be delighted to discover the full range of the label’s beloved classic models alongside fresh releases and exciting collaborations.

Speaking of collaborations, in keeping with Dr. Martens’ commitment to celebrating local creativity, the brand has partnered with Swedish artist and illustrator Leo Lyxx to herald its latest Nordic venture. For the occasion, Lyxx dreamt up a vibrant artwork boasting a supersized version of Dr. Martens’ ‘1460’ boot, set against a quirky backdrop of Stockholm. Displayed in the new store, it serves as a fitting tribute to the brand’s arrival in the city.

You can now visit the new Dr. Martens store at Drottninggatan 61, 111 21 Stockholm.
