In lieu of a show at the most recent instalment of Copenhagen Fashion Week, (di)vision taps Brazilian influencer Livia for the campaign of its latest collection, celebrating the "inner child"

“I think this is the most (di)ivision-y shoot we’ve ever done,” says (di)vision co-founder Simon Wick. We’re on the set of the Danish brand’s autumn/winter '23 campaign shoot at the tail end of Copenhagen Fashion Week. While Wick and his sister, Nanna, opted not to show this season (“I needed a break,” Wick says), he still wanted to do something. So when Brazilian influencer Livia Nunes Marques (best known simply as Livia) reached out to collaborate on a shoot, Wick jumped at the suggestion. “Livia is the concept of (di)vision,” Wick says. “Very playful, very authentic with this youthful way about her.”

Livia discovered the brand ahead of her first trip to Copenhagen for last season’s fashion week. “I was obsessed,” she says. “The vibe is so authentic – it’s something very cool and fresh.” We’re taking a lunch break, though Livia still wears the cropped pale purple wig – one of several candy-coloured wigs she’ll wear throughout the day. Teeny tiny rhinestones dot her face. She can often be spotted wearing the brand’s signature upcycled pieces on her Instagram, where she boasts 849,000 followers. What’s her favourite (di)vision piece? “That’s a difficult question,” she says, with a grin. “But I like my striped sweater.”

Last season, (di)vision went viral for its infamous tablecloth dress, the finale for a collection that celebrated '90s youth culture and a general sense of playful nihilism. In shooting the collection’s campaign, Wick sought to capture that same energy, reflecting the notion of one’s “inner child”. Livia, donning those aforementioned wigs – clipped and styled by hairstylist Mads Stig – wears chunky snowboard boots (sourced from Nanna) and goggles. In one shot, she clutches a massive stuffed dragon Wick picked up at a secondhand shop the day before. “It’s a playful collection, so we wanted to capture these different characters,” says Wick. “It’s obviously not looks people would wear day to day, but we’re creating a character that could be in a video game or a movie.”

On set, those playful vibes were strong. Shot by photographer Fredrick Lentz Andersen – a close friend of the brand – and styled by his creative partner and girlfriend Agnes Buch, the production embodied that low-key “friends just being creative” energy that makes (di)vision so infectious. Dua Lipa and Dave blared from the speaker as Stig blew wind through Livia’s wig. “You’re making my job easy,” Lentz Andersen notes as he snaps Livia giving that teddy a bear hug. Wick smiles and adds, “She’s the coolest.”
