The Swedish streetwear brand Eytys has set its sights on leveraging the booming resell industry in partnership with Stockholm-based resale startup Mai
You’ve seen Eytys’s apparel and leather goods on most notable fashion figures – from Zendaya to Gigi Hadid. Now the Swedish brand will be more accessible than ever before, partnering with Stockholm-based resale startup Mai to disrupt the pre-loved sector – a booming business that is expected to double in size by 2028.
Recognising the potential in extending the lifespan of its accessories and garments, Eytys and Mai are now launching a partnership that demonstrates that resale can be profitable for all parties. ”We know our customers move between buying new, buying pre-owned, and reselling,” says Jonathan Hirschfeld, co-founder and CEO of Eytys. “We also recognise that our products’ lifespans extend beyond our original sales channels. Mai’s technical solution enables us to offer our customers a more seamless way to engage with these interests.”

With this new partnership, Eytys’ aficionados are offered a simple way to resell their old pieces through Mai. ”We believe that business models where brands can benefit from resale are essential for the industry to shift towards more circular behaviour,” says Emma Rosman, founder of Mai.
“In this collaboration, we combine Eytys data with Mai’s automated process to make resale easier for customers,” adds Rosman. The process is simple: take a photo of the label with the model name of the garment, and Mai will automate the advert using Eytys’ data, collecting product images and product information straight from the brand. Once a product is sold, Mai and Eytys split the commission.
The collaboration launches 19 September 2024, and you can find out more at maiapp.se.
