Following the announcement that Filippa K's creative director Liisa Kessler is departing, the brand announces Anna Teurnell as new creative lead
Following the announcement that Filippa K's creative director Liisa Kessler would be leaving the brand after two years with change at the helm pending, the Swedish heritage brand has announced a successor: Anna Teurnell. As creative lead, Teurnell will oversee not only design, but all creative aspects of the brand.
“I am thrilled about this opportunity and excited to contribute to the journey of a brand that has been close to my heart for decades,” says Teurnell. “I see amazing potential in Filippa K, both globally and locally. Working closely with the teams, my priority will be to define and develop the brand’s next generation of iconic products.”

In many ways, Teurnell is a natural fit for Filippa K. Her own brand, Teurn, reveals a deft hand when it comes to timeless, distinctly Scandinavian minimalism – most notably, sturdy, elegant outerwear and effortless tailoring. Meanwhile, having cut her chops at a slew of established heavy-hitters – & Other Stories, Marimekko, Arket – she has the experience leading a larger design team and paying heed to heritage.
It’s a sentiment echoed by Filippa K CEO Marie Forssenius, who says, “We are thrilled to welcome Anna Teurnell as the new creative lead at Filippa K. Her unparalleled design and merchandising expertise, complemented by her innate flair for timeless style, effortlessly align with our core values. We have full confidence that this appointment will help advance our strategic journey and drive growth for Filippa K.”
The brand has not yet revealed the timing of Teurnell’s first Filippa K collection. Until then, we can only dream of the delicious '90s-tinged minimalism that’s to come.
