A private ceremony with a larger celebration a year later at St James’s Palace gave this couple an opportunity to host their Swedish guests for an intimate evening at Claridge’s in London

“We were introduced in London by our best man, Alexander Danielsson, who I had met in Paris during an internship with Sotheby’s,” says Flora Vesterberg, art historian, Vogue Scandinavia contributor, and granddaughter of HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon. Lady Ogilvy. She continues, “He’d been studying with Timothy at Stockholm School of Economics and eventually brought us together by chance. A few months after our engagement, the pandemic struck and so we chose to marry privately and celebrate our wedding a year later.”

Flora’s wedding to Swedish financier, Timothy Vesterberg took place in September 2020 with a private ceremony at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace - she wore Emilia Wickstead and bespoke Jimmy Choo - with very few guests due to COVID-19 restrictions. Her thrice great-grandmother Queen Victoria married Prince Albert there in 1840.

The couple’s marriage blessing, with a larger guest list, took place in September 2021 at St James’s Church, followed by their wedding reception at St James’s Palace. The bride was supported by her cousin and maid-of-honour Lady Marina Windsor throughout. After the reception, a private soirée was held later that evening at Claridge’s, a natural and fitting choice for the couple.

“Timothy and I had an idyllic summer in Stockholm ahead of the wedding. Our best man Alexander hosted my inaugural Midsommar celebrations in Uppsala. We spent time on the Swedish archipelago and fell in love with the Artipelag museum. It was very special.”
