With something for everyone, the cult Danish brand strikes a perfect balance with its latest collection. Read on to discover all the looks
When searching for words to describe Ganni, what immediately comes to mind is ‘balance.’ Despite the volatility of the fashion industry, the powerhouse Danish brand seems to juggle it all, valuing growth while refusing to overlook sustainability and designing for everybody - and every body - without compromising on style. It’s only fitting, then, that its most recent resort show seems to incorporate several different aesthetics, melding distinct looks into a balanced, cohesive, whole.
First there are the 1970s silhouettes, flared pants and collared shirting evoking both the ease and the sharpness of the decade’s style. Next, the collection delves into classic Ganni leopard print. Suggesting the exalted looks of characters like Margot Tennenbaum and Carrie Bradshaw, these spotted pieces range from a mod faux-fur coat to matching heeled boots and a purse. The collection also gets cosy with oversized chunky knits and a minimalistic grey knit set screaming to be worn après-ski or on a casual pub night. Also present is Ganni’s knack for flattering yet unique tailoring, with bubble and handkerchief hems gracing the edges of dresses while the brand’s popular jeans get an oversized makeover.
All in all, the collection has something for everyone, its chameleonic range caters to the diverse array of women who call themselves Ganni Girls. Whether it’s a suit to wear to a nine-to-five, a dress for a wedding, or a matching set destined for a night out, the Ganni Resort ‘25 collection has all bases covered. It also speaks to the inventiveness of creative director Ditte Reffstrup who, after nearly 15 years with Ganni, continues to expand upon the brand’s conventions and codes. With certain signature pieces now in every Scandi It-girl’s closet, the brand has room to explore, keeping true to its aesthetic roots while branching out into new territory.
