For autumn/winter '25, Herskind serves up a luxe line-up where masterful tailoring and lush textures steal the spotlight
How would Brigitte Herskind sum up her namesake brand’s autumn/winter ‘25 collection in a single word? “Rich.”
Rich in textures, flush with juxtapositions. A wealth of sumptuous shades and shapes to remix and layer. A line-up designed for the contemporary, empowered woman living in urban settings, who revels in polished Scandinavian minimalism. “The AW25 collection is inspired by the interplay between structured tailoring and fluid, feminine silhouettes. I wanted to explore contrasts – strength and softness, urban life and the ease at home – capturing the multifaceted nature of modern women,” Herskind explains. “Architecture and art played a big role in shaping the collection, with clean lines and organic forms serving as a guiding principle.”
Rich wouldn’t be the first word to describe the location of Herskind’s AW25 runway show, staged in a towering, unembellished concrete-heavy space in the Papirøen district. Yet, the stark and industrial surroundings proved the perfect backdrop for the brand’s lush collection.
This season, Herskind found herself gravitating towards nostalgic notions, with vintage images portraying fierce women of bygone eras, snaps of Brutalist architecture paired with soft sculptures, and rural landscapes populating her mood board. She also dusted off some of her archives, “reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens.”
The AW25 collection further mines the Herskind house codes, where elevated everyday pieces, highlighting wearability, luxe fabrics and precise tailoring reign supreme. A masterfully cut, preppy charcoal blazer styles seamlessly with a sultry lace-trimmed mini dress for a party-central look, while structured, heavy wool coats lend a dash of opulence to outerwear. Speaking of outerwear, our eyes lingered long on the fuzzy, woven fur jackets, arriving in three distinct silhouettes rendered in creamy white, sumptuous beige and decadent chocolate.
The label’s signature interplay between the masculine and the feminine was ever-present in AW25, most notably in the boxy pieces paired with form-flaunting body suits, hot pants and fluid silk and satin dresses. Coquettish balloon hems and asymmetrical cuts injected intrigue into feminine frocks, while vibrant acid green, baby pink and deep purple offered a welcome splash of colour into Herskind’s typically monochromatic palette.
