American workwear, with a European elegance, this is how denim brand Jeanerica foresees the wardrobes of autumn/winter 2022
Founded in 2018, Jeanerica is a Swedish denim house launched by power-duo Jonas Clason, the former head of denim at Acne Studios and Lena Patriksson Keller, founder and chairman of the Pattrikson Group. Inspired by the long and illustrious history of denim in the USA, the brand has one clear sentiment seeping through every style they make: "We have no aim to create new collections every season. We want people to treasure our garments."
This approach is very much part of the brand's commitment to sustainability. Using a majority of recycled materials, conservational denim and innovative ways to treat denim, the brand doesn't really believe in seasonal offerings. Instead, they work with a strong core offering making up around 70 per cent of their collection – with the added zhoosh of a new ready to wear silhouette or two or a new colourway on one of their classic silhouettes when releasing new collections.
The autumn/winter season saw the waist-lines drop. Riding on the revival wave of the early 2000s, one of the key styles released in Jeanerica's latest collection is a low-rise flare with jetted pockets. While exploring dip-dyeing techniques and A-line silhouettes in their tops and jackets, the brand has steered clear of prints this season, instead opting for a tone-in-tone embroidery of its logo.
