The Danish supermodel was among the iconic, familiar faces reunited for yesterday’s hotly-anticipated Victoria’s Secret fashion show

Last night marked a thrilling moment of nostalgia for anyone who was obsessed with the glitter-encrusted, star-studded, angel-wing-adorned Victoria’s Secret fashion shows that had a chokehold on pop culture in the 2000s. After pausing the spectacles in 2019, the lingerie brand held its first show in five years in New York City, following its May announcement of the event’s return, where Victoria’s Secret declared on Instagram, “It only gets more iconic from here.”

On the iconic front, the brand certainly delivered. Soundtracked by performances from the likes of Cher, Tyla and Lisa from Blackpink, Victoria’s Secret brought back a slew of veteran ‘Angels’ alongside some of the biggest names in modelling, including Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Graham, and Gigi and Bella Hadid, plus a surprise debut appearance from Kate Moss. Also among the seasoned pros reclaiming their wings on the runway was Danish supermodel Josephine Skriver, a mainstay at the VS spectacles throughout the 2010s. “It looks like the cat’s out of the bag…” Skriver captioned an Instagram post ahead of the show, followed by shots of her backstage in the legendary pink-and-white striped silk robe.

Strutting and dancing along the mellow beats of Tyla’s ‘Push 2 Start’, Skriver emerged donning – in true VS style – a bedazzled set of lingerie, complete with a fringed, bold-shouldered bolero that created a subtle illusion of angel wings. On her feet sparkled matching, crystal-strewn stilettos. Naturally, Skriver’s number one fan, husband Alexander DeLeon, was there to document it all, uploading a series of stunning snaps on his Stories, writing, “I’m so proud of you, Jo. You are such a rockstar.” But perhaps the sweetest moment was DeLeon’s clip of the couple’s one-year-old daughter, Aurora, tuning in to watch the live stream from the comfort of a cushy bed. As DeLeon put it, “Man. One of the coolest things ever. Daughter watching mama.”
