Editor in chief Martina Bonnier on why our latest digital cover – featuring Danish supermodel Josephine Skriver wearing Nina Ricci creations plucked from the runway – is not to be missed

During Paris Fashion Week in September, as I scurried from show to show, I suddenly found myself in a serene moment. Standing in a palatial garden courtyard, surrounded by sculptures and lush greenery, I stopped to appreciate the beauty of Hôtel Potocki around me. It was selected by Harris Reed to stage his spring/summer ‘25 showcase for Nina Ricci which proved not only an exquisite exploration of his Parisian flair and drama as a designer, but also the unveiling of the Vénus de Nina fragrance – the first perfume to be launched by the house in 18 years.

At only 28 years old, Harris has already become one of my favourite designers and I am delighted to feature one of his head-turning creations from that very SS25 runway show on our latest digital cover, worn by Josephine Skriver, one of our region’s most successful supermodel exports. Josephine now joins the ranks of other powerful and influential Nordic models to have graced the cover of Vogue Scandinavia including Malaika Holmén, Paulina Porizkova and Vilma Sjöberg. For this meaningful fashion moment, we needed a powerful look that would match the potency of Josephine herself: and Harris was the designer up to the task.

Danish models have been some of the defining faces of fashion for decades. Just look at Helena Christensen in the 1990s or Freja Beha Erishsen in the 2010s. Today, Josephine is one of those faces. With her captivating energy, Josephine has reached – and endured – at the height of the fashion game with a hard-working, no-nonsense Scandinavian pragmatism that always shines through. Best of all, Josphine’s striking cover story, shot in the heart of Copenhagen – is a homecoming to her roots. The city which, as she explains in her interview, helped her to find her footing as a model: from taking her first runway steps at Copenhagen Fashion Week to booking her first campaign with local brand Munthe. While LA-based Josephine often returns to her native Denmark, this particular journey home for our cover shoot occurred mere hours after another homecoming: her return to the Victoria’s Secret runway in New York, a round trip which she took with her one-year-old daughter.

After years of proudly advocating for queer rights and sharing the unconventional family structure in her own upbringing, it’s remarkable to see her step into the role of motherhood herself – and it hasn’t slowed her down one bit. She continues to jet around the globe for huge projects and campaigns and confidently steers her own activewear brand with an innate ‘do-it-all’ aptitude.

This digital cover unites the respective forces that are Harris and Josephine in a celebration of beauty and strength. I am looking forward to personally hosting both the designer and the supermodel in Copenhagen in just a few weeks time, when Vogue Scandinavia holds an intimate event with Nina Ricci to continue the celebrations.

I hope you enjoy.
