Think of Victoria’s Secret and its zeitgeist-altering fashion shows during its heyday in the 2010s, and one (Angelic) face is bound to spring to mind: Danish supermodel Josephine Skriver. After being scouted on the streets of New York City and steadily making her way to the modelling world, Skriver clocked her first VS runway appearance in 2013. This milestone marked the beginning of her reign as a mainstay and certified ‘Angel’ on the star-studded, glitter-laden catwalk every year until 2018.
In 2019, the lingerie brand announced a break from the spectacles, only to return bigger, better, and “more iconic” this October. Naturally, Skriver reclaimed her wings for the occasion, strutting alongside industry heavyweights and OG Angels such as Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Tyra Banks, and Gigi and Bella Hadid. Whether Skriver will grace the VS catwalk again remains to be seen, but in the meantime – and in honour of the supermodel as our latest digital cover star – we’ll revel in her most unforgettable Victoria’s Secret looks throughout the years. In 2013, Skriver made her debut on the Victoria’s Secret runway – no doubt a pinch-me moment for any budding model. Featured on the show’s ‘Pink Network’ segment, she strode down the sparkly catwalk to Neon Jungle’s explosive track ‘Trouble’. Her get-up was nothing short of whimsical: a pink bra paired with a colourful mesh crop top, black boyshorts embellished with sequinned ‘Awesome,’ pom-pom-adorned thigh-high socks and towering, vibrant platform heels. And lest we forget the giant emoji face strapped to her stomach. Over-the-top? Absolutely. But we totes love it.

The following year, the Victoria’s Secret spectacle travelled to London, where Skriver appeared during the ‘University of Pink’ segment, soundtracked by Ariana Grande. She donned a playful ensemble comprising a black, see-through ‘Pink’ crop top layered over a matching bra, paired with fur-adorned micro-mini shorts and chunky silver jewellery. However, it was her footwear that stole the spotlight: on her legs-for-days were thigh-high, gladiator-style strappy heels boasting bold animal prints and intricate cut-outs – the perfect cherry on top of this fierce look.
