Spilled wine and sparkling jewels – all we can say is "skål" to Josephine Studio's intimate Oslo Runway dinner
Entering Josephine Studio's presentation felt akin to stumbling upon the most exquisite late-night dinner party imaginable. Shards of broken wine glasses, with merlot cascading over crisp white tablecloths, half-eaten cakes, and candles burnt nearly to their base adorned the tables. Norway's most notable personalities, alongside members of the international press, gathered to share a meal – pizza, in this case – whilst marvelling at a selection of sparkling jewellery pieces.
When questioned about the intimate setting, creative director and co-founder Sarah Herland shared how their status as newcomers in the industry shaped this decision. "We believe this setting makes it easier for our guests to connect with us: Camilla, myself, and Josephine," she explained. The evening was a reflection on the past year and a half since the co-founders launched their jewellery line in April of last year. "Living in the moment and cherishing each other's company – sharing stories, learning, laughing, and sometimes crying – are some of life's greatest joys," Herland remarked.
At this latest event, Josephine Studio unveiled rings featuring stones in vibrant summer hues: Green Malachite, Blue Lapis, and Turquoise. Herland also eagerly introduces two new stones, Black Onyx and Grey Moonstone. "These more muted tones are perfect for everyday wear and equally suited for dressing up during the winter season," she noted.
Up until now, the brand has exclusively offered pieces in silver and solid gold. "Camilla and I have always preferred these materials over gold-plated options, which tend to wear out and lose their appeal more quickly," Herland commented. However, she also acknowledged that gold prices have nearly doubled, making it a more expensive choice. "We want to offer gold at a more accessible price," Herland explained, revealing that the brand has now introduced a selected range of pieces in gold-plated silver, including classic hoops, charms, and necklaces.
The evening aimed to capture the essence of those "special nights that turn into early mornings, where time slips away and you feel grateful to be exactly where you are—rare and real." It is fair to say that the Josephine Studio team succeeded in this endeavour. "This was the inspiration behind our first campaign shoot, where we invested everything to create something exceptional and make our mark in the industry," Herland concluded. "With this dinner, we wanted to recreate the spirit of that shoot, which has become deeply symbolic for us."
