Editor in chief Martina Bonnier on our latest digital cover starring Kristine Froseth, which gives platform to the Norwegian-American

I have known for some time that Norwegian-American actor Kristine Froseth, with her doll-like, girlish features and magnetic on-screen presence, was going to be a big-time name. The inaugural issue of Vogue Scandinavia is proof. We allocated an extensive spread to feature the then 24-year-old, shot by Ellen von Unwerth in New York, as she was budding into fame following the release of Looking for Alaska – amongst other Netflix hits.

So it feels very special to me to now document Kristine, three years on, as she matures into her stardom. Wearing a full Prada ensemble on our latest digital cover, she has never looked quite so grown up. Beyond the stunning editorial, our interview with Kristine also captures her personal evolution – as she talks with wisdom and assuredness about her relationship with co-star Guy Remmers, her experiences rubbing shoulders on set with the likes of Jacob Elordi, and her own strides to advocate for mental health.

Kristine’s certainly been busy with on-screen projects, but off-screen, she’s been quietly winning over the fashion world. I’ve watched her journey from wearing conventionally pretty dresses on the red carpet to embracing more directional looks at fashion weeks, attending the runway shows of Miu Miu, Simone Rocha and JW Anderson – the latter of which she was whisked away from in a taxi for this cover shoot in London. In Kristine’s words, she’s “coming into more of a grungy, bold, colourful moment”, and it’s wonderful to watch.

Kristine couldn’t be more deserving of this Vogue Scandinavia cover moment, but don’t just take it from me. The cover story sees her high profile industry peers and co-stars – including Jon Bernthal, Imogen Waterhouse and Thea Sofia Loch Naess – weigh in on what makes Kristine so very special. I hope you enjoy.
