At Copenhagen Fashion Week's most talked about (and well-attended) party, Levi’s and Vogue Scandinavia paid homage to a fashion week mainstay: denim
Yesterday evening guests turned up to Levi’s and Vogue Scandinavia’s dinner at Soho House Copenhagen dressed in tuxedos. Canadian tuxedos, that is. Smack dab in the middle of Copenhagen Fashion Week, the event paid homage to denim in all its forms and attendees certainly got the memo. Alicia Agnesson wore a denim vest and matching skirt, Emma Fridsell opted for a jean jacket worn backwards, Alana Hadid’s denim had glittery fringes. Even our editor in chief Martina Bonnier welcomed the yee-haw agenda, in a custom floor-sweeping Levi’s denim mermaid skirt.
To fit the theme, vibes were cool and casual, with Soho House’s Cecconi’s restaurant swapping out its usual Italian menu for American food served family-style – brisket, cauliflower poppers, cheese-filled sausages. Trays were passed around long, bustling tables while guests gossiped about the day’s shows and argued about whether or not they could pull off a cowboy hat. Wine was poured by waiters wearing Levi’s jeans and white T-shirts.
We welcomed a veritable smorgasbord of beloved Scandinavian talents – Swedish actors Edvin Ryding and Felicia Maxime enjoying their first CPHFW as a couple (with matching ice blonde hair, no less), Norwegian pop star Astrid S looked more biker than cowboy in green leather and Danish actor Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, starring in the hotly anticipated Dune: Prophecy, enjoyed the calm before her forthcoming press storm. Elsewhere, other fashion week mainstays – Mads Emil Møller, Emilia Silberg and Anna Winck – held court.
Following dinner, guests headed upstairs for a private dance party, enjoying disco tunes spun on vinyl and more than a couple of picante cocktails. “This is the fashion week party,” I heard one guest shout as I made my way outside, pushing through the lineup of denim-clad fashion folks clamouring to make their way in. Giddy up indeed.
