Swedish content creator Lisa Olsson guides us through New York Fashion Week – catching the ferry to attend an unforgettable COS runway show at the Brooklyn Navy Yard

Lisa Olsson is one of the most prominent names on Sweden's sartorial scene, and her refined, minimalist aesthetic has attracted more than 400 thousand fashion fans on Instagram. This season, she sets sail for New York to attend COS' autumn/winter '24 show, inviting Vogue Scandinavia to join her as she prepped for the hotly-anticipated event.

"I've been to New York more times than I can count, and it's always been synonymous with fashion for me," Olsson shares. For the content creator and designer, it's as though she is swathed in creative energy every time she arrives. "Inspiration just hits you, whether you're deep in fashion week or simply strolling through the streets," she adds.

No trip to New York is complete without a few favourite haunts. "I always pop into What Goes Around Comes Around for vintage gems and inspiration – I've never left disappointed," she says. "And recently, I discovered Matchaful on Mulberry Street. They do the best matcha iced latte – trust me!" Her top tip for visitors? Make time to explore the city's stunning parks. "It's the perfect antidote to New York's usual hustle and bustle," she suggests.

This season, Olsson's fashion week itinerary revolved around the much-anticipated COS show. Alongside A-list attendees such as Emma Roberts, Emily Ratajkowski, and Chloë Sevigny, Olsson hitched a COS-branded ferry ride bound for the Brooklyn Navy Yard. And Olsson wasn't the only well-dressed Scandinavian in the crowd: Danish Emili Sindlev embraced layering with crisp shirts and wide-leg jeans. Swedish tastemaker Hannah Schönberg, on the other hand, tapped into autumn's key trends, pairing a deep burgundy look with a coordinating leather belt — a defining accessory from COS this season.

I've always been a sucker for a double-breasted suit. For the show, I wanted a more feminine silhouette, so I pulled the look together with a wide belt. I'll definitely be wearing this suit all through autumn and winter.

As for Olsson, she opted for taupe tailoring from COS' latest collection. "I've always been a sucker for a double-breasted suit," she confesses. "For the show, I wanted a more feminine silhouette, so I pulled the look together with a wide belt. I'll definitely be wearing this suit all through autumn and winter."

According to Olsson, the show did not disappoint. "The collection was an absolute joy to watch," Olsson enthuses, highlighting the elevated everyday looks with sweeping black fabrics and strong layering. "I couldn't help but eye up the outerwear in the men's collection," she admits. "One takeaway for autumn – I'll be pairing leather gloves with an evening look."
