Longines reveals British actor Henry Cavill as its latest Ambassador of Elegance
It’s fitting that Longines would announce its new ambassador on Valentine’s Day; after all, this is a man many have had romantic thoughts about. Yes, we’re speaking of Henry Cavill who today was announced as Longines’ newest Ambassador of Elegance. As the title suggests, Longines selects ambassadors who embody that same ineffable elegance – both personally and professionally – as their timepieces. The British actor joins an illustrious crew of elegant ambassadors, including Jennifer Lawrence, Barbara Palvin and Kate Winslet.
“What draws me to Longines is their understated elegance. True quality doesn’t need to announce itself,” says Cavill. “It’s evident in every detail and in every action. This is a philosophy, backed by generations of precision craftsmanship and artistry that resonates deeply with my own values.”

Though he’s best known for commanding the screen in films like Superman and The Man from UNCLE (in which he co-starred alongside Swedish actor Alicia Vikander), Cavill’s own love of craft and precision was made evident in 2020, when a series of videos depicting the actor painstakingly building his own PC took the internet by storm. This is clearly a man who values a carefully crafted piece, like the timeless Flagship Heritage watch he wears in his first ambassador images.
Longines’ CEO Matthias Breschan further emphasises why Cavill is just the man for this role. “In Henry, we recognise a real affinity with our brand’s values. His sophistication, genuine warmth and multifaceted personality reflect what elegance means today,” he says. “Whether commanding the screen in epic productions or sharing his passions for aviation and equestrianism, he maintains an authenticity and grace that makes him a clear embodiment of the Longines spirit.”
