In collaboration with some of the most exciting Swedish export brands in fashion and beauty, the Swedish Honorary Consulate in Los Angeles, supported by the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, hosted a spectacular Lucia celebration at the historic Cara Hotel.
The event blended Scandinavian traditions with a contemporary flair, treating guests to a stylish seated dinner. The highlight of the evening was an intimate live performance by Swedish twin sisters Elektra and Miranda Kilbey, known as Say Lou Lou. With their recently released EP Dust and a rendition of their new song 'No One', they created an unforgettable soundtrack for guests.
This year’s surprise Lucia was model and actress Ida Lundgren, who captivated the audience in a stunning white mini-dress from Malina’s bridal collection. Her makeup, crafted by IDUN Minerals, was complemented by accessories from designer Emma Israelsson and handcrafted boots from Swedish favourite Shepherd of Sweden. Tärnorna wore sets from the bamboo brand Movesgood in place of traditional Lucia gowns.
“We wanted to give the Lucia tradition a fresh, modern touch while showcasing the incredible Scandinavian brands that are now thriving in the American market,” said Gudrun Giddings, Sweden's Honorary Consul in Los Angeles.
The guest list featured an impressive mix of notable names from both the entertainment and fashion worlds. Attendees included actor Dolph Lundgren and his wife Emma Krokdal, author Sigge Eklund, Hollywood’s favourite trainer Magnus Lygdbäck, actress Izabella Scorupco, media personality Maria Montazami with her daughters, fashion photographer Daniella Midenge, and TV legend Johan Pråmell.
