Love, marriage and 2 baby carriages: Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt ties the knot in surprise wedding

Fashion darling Søren Le Schmidt loves a collaboration: the 33-year-old designer teamed up with Danish brands Pilgrim in 2020, and ET AL in 2021, and he’s also flexed his design muscle outside of the fashion world, creating a necklace with jewellery designer, Jane Kønig, and a perfume with Ecooking. But by far his greatest personal collaboration was with his twin sons, Marlon and Mio, at their baptism earlier this month.

“All our friends and family were ready at Marmorkirken [Copenhagen’s grand marble church],” says Le Schmidt. “First the boys’ godmothers and godfathers entered the church with the twins; a few seconds later we [Le Schmidt and his bride, makeup artist and hairstylist Nikoline Barfod Skaarup] walked down the aisle hand in hand. Nobody knew that there was going to be a wedding, too. Everyone whistled and clapped, and the atmosphere throughout the church was filled with joy and love. And surprise.”
