Zegna ambassador Mads Mikkelsen turned up to the Italian brand’s autumn/winter '25 show in Milan in a brown monochrome look that doubled as a masterclass in the very Danish art of layering
With fashion in a state of flux – creative directors coming and going, the constant churn of brand ambassadors – it’s comforting to know we can count on one constant: Mads Mikkelsen attending the Zegna show. Yesterday evening the Danish actor, who has been an ambassador for the Italian brand since 2023, turned up to Zegna’s autumn/winter '25 show in Milan wearing a monochromatic chocolate brown look in contrasting textures that looked utterly luxurious.

A masterclass in both Scandinavian minimalism and the very Danish art of layering, Mikkelsen’s look comprised of a three-buttoned suit over a roll neck knit, topped with a smart overcoat – all in that same delicious shade of brown. Contrasted against the grass on Zegna’s fall 2025 runway, he looked not unlike an aesthetically pleasing tree – perhaps a nod to the brand’s well-documented sustainability efforts.
Mikkelsen’s look mirrored the potpourri of textures and monochromatic multi-layered looks that came down the runway. A relaxed brown corduroy suit, for instance, was worn over not one but two shirts, as well as an oatmeal-coloured cardigan. Elsewhere, monochromatic oxblood tailoring with layers of silk and knit.

Though Mikkelsen did not take to the runway this time around, there was another noteworthy celebrity cameo: Severance star John Turturro made an appearance on the runway in an excellent shearling-collared tweed overcoat. In fact Mikkelsen posted a rare photo on main alongside Turturro – a killer duo if there ever was one. It seems Zegna has cornered the market on a certain sort of gentleman.
