From Copenhagen to Charleston, Julie Brangstrup is rewriting the rules of the road – and philanthropy. We hop in the passenger seat to get to know the London-based entrepreneur behind Cash & Rocket

If I’m ever stuck on a deserted island, find myself wrongly accused of a crime I didn’t commit, or otherwise land myself in some hopeless circumstances, I would sincerely hope that Julie Brangstrup is nearby. At least, that’s what was running through my mind as I found myself in the back of her white Rolls-Royce, outfitted with red leather interiors, naturally.

While she may not be a household name in her native Copenhagen, Brangstrup’s reputation travels far in luxury circles – particularly in London. After arriving for an internship at Morgan Stanley aged 19, she went on to become co-founder of Gumball 3000, the now-legendary supercar rally. After a divorce with her ex-husband and co-founder, she walked away from it entirely. “I swore I would never do another car rally,” she laughs.
