Professional athletes are known for using all kinds of methods and superstitions to get in the zone before they compete. For Duplantis, his ritual is to listen to a playlist with, what he describes to Vogue Scandinavia in the June-July issue as “vulgar” music “to get that crazy mindset going.”
With the Paris 2024 Olympics just around the corner, where Duplantis will take to the crossbar in the jumping area of the Stade de France, the Swedish-American athlete will be cueing up another playlist of his favourite songs to get into his champion headspace.
