The record-breaking Swedish-American pole vaulter and former Vogue Scandinavia cover star received not one, not two, but three awards at last night's prestigious 2025 Idrottsgalan, and shared a sweet gratitude to his fiancée Desiré in his acceptance speech

Congratulations are in order for record-smashing Olympic gold medalist pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis – and his newly-minted fiancée, Desiré Inglander, by way of that unforgettable Vogue Scandinavia digital cover shoot – who has just nabbed three awards at last night’s 2025 Idrottsgalan, held in Stockholm.

Celebrating the most outstanding achievements in Swedish sports over the past year, Duplantis received some of the evening’s most coveted accolades: The Male Athlete of the Year, This Year’s Achievement, as well as Svenska Dagbladet’s Medal of Merit. He certainly boasts the accomplishments to back up the recognition: anyone who tuned into the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics last July and August will remember watching with bated breath as Duplantis not only took home the top prize but also broke the world record – set by himself, of course.

And he didn’t stop there. Later in August, Duplantis surpassed himself once again at Poland’s 2024 Silesia Diamond League, claiming a new world record by clearing 6.26m – which placed the Swedish-American athlete among the top 10 highest jumps of all time. It’s safe to say that Duplantis has had an extraordinary year. “I’m not ready to make so many speeches – I’m so grateful,” he said after receiving his third award of the night. “There aren’t many more to thank, actually. I want to thank my fiancée Desiré; she’s been so damn important for the whole journey this year.”

Naturally, Inglander, a Swedish It-girl and model, was there to support her future husband. The dashing couple arrived dressed to the nines, with Duplantis’ sharp midnight blue suit perfectly complementing Inglander’s cascading, floor-grazing draped navy gown courtesy of Indian fashion brand Deme by Gabriella. Heightening the glamour even further, Inglander wore a trio of glittering accents by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.: a ring, bracelet and set of earrings from the iconic Sixteen Stones collection.

Here’s to many more accolades and world records.
