The 32 one-off pieces are a leather love letter to British craftsmanship
Fans of Stefan Cooke’s reworked Mulberry bags, which bring the buzzy British design house’s singular ethos to a handful of the heritage brand’s most beloved handbags, rejoice: the two brands have teamed up for a second round of covetable collectables. Launching today at Dover Street Market London, the 32 one-off pieces are a leather love letter to British craftsmanship.
Having first appeared on the Stefan Cooke spring/summer '24 runway, the second drop of bags similarly find signature Stefan Cooke flourishes on Mulberry classics. Whimsical leather bows adorn the iconic Bayswater, for instance. Elsewhere, Stefan Cooke’s ever-popular slash reveals contrasting leather. “We are incredibly excited to continue our partnership with Mulberry through this second capsule which we're proud to unveil exclusively at Dover Street Market,” says Stefan Cooke, who co-founded his namesake brand with Jake Burt. “It is a perfect continuation of a genuine collaboration – bringing together our shared passion for craftsmanship and redefining pre-loved styles already imbued with years of history.”
The collection is a double down on Mulberry’s commitment to sustainability, an ethos exemplified by the Mulberry Exchange. Launched back in 2020, the circular programme allows shoppers to buy and sell pre-loved Mulberry bags, with a little refurbishing by the brand’s artisans. “Stefan and Jake have a talent for reimagining pre-loved pieces, and their artisanal approach beautifully complements the work of our craftspeople in Somerset,” says Mulberry CEO Thierry Andretta. “It's a perfect fit for both our Made to Last ethos and our circularity programme, The Mulberry Exchange.”
To mark the occasion of this second drop, a massive installation of foam fingers – a recurring Stefan Cooke accessory – finds its home at Dover Street Market in London. But the real LFW souvenirs are the bags themselves, available for purchase in-store and online at DSM from today.
