Munthe's autumn/winter 2022 collection came in 50 shades of blue and gold
This season was all about blue for Munthe. Continuing the brand’s strong relationship with the colour from previous collections, the clear and bright blue hue was paired with earthy yellow and delicate prints. “I had turquoise blues and gold on my mood board, as well as references to handicrafts, silk dresses, sporty workwear, and denim in all its varieties,” creative director Naja Munthe tells Vogue Scandinavia.
Named ‘Craft Society’, Munthe’s AW22 collection is a modern amalgamation of femininity and streetwear. Ruffled tops and dresses embrace winter florals, while slouchy suits are presented with a soft sheen in the fabric. Barrel-shaped denim pairs perfectly with puffed-up shoulders. A two-tone bomber jacket split down the middle is a standout in the lineup and the perfect addition to our outwear.
“The first step towards a responsible fashion choice is taken by our designers at the drawing board,” Munthe says when speaking about her eponymous brand’s goals for the upcoming collection. “The more we know about our production, the better understanding we get of our responsibilities. We want you to be proud of our products, their quality and how they are made.” As a result, Munthe’s autumn/winter 2022 collection is full of organic cotton, ecovero viscose and recycled polyester – making up 73 per cent of the material used.
