As a brand so synonymous with Scandinavian style, it seems near impossible that New Balance did not yet have a dedicated retail space in our region. Well, now we can rejoice, as the US-based brand finally opens its first store, right in the heart of Copenhagen
On historic Købmagergade, one of Copenhagen’s central shopping streets, New Balance has opened its doors to its first store in both Denmark and the whole of the Nordics. In a fresh retail concept, centred around seating areas, the store offers an inviting space that encourages customers to gather, find inspiration and explore their personal style.
The space merges the culture and craftsmanship of the cult brand, featuring a curated selection of core lifestyle products. Styles such as the classic 9060 and 530 sneakers can be found as well as the premium 'Made in UK' and 'Made in USA' collections, offering both footwear and clothing to sneaker enthusiasts and sybarites alike.
“We’re excited to open our first store in Copenhagen,” says Marco Alves, the general retail director for New Balance. “It marks an important milestone as we expand into the Nordics. This store lets us introduce our latest retail experience to the region and connect with our Danish customers in a dynamic space while delivering products we know they are looking for.”
Having collaborated with Danish It-brand Ganni on multiple occasions, it is clear that New Balance has an aesthetic that will slot seamlessly into to Copenhagen scene (that, and the fact you will struggle to find a Scandinavian who does not have at least one pair of New Balances on high rotation in their wardrobe.) The store, located at Købmagergade 22, 1150 Copenhagen celebrated its opening on Friday 27th September, and is set to host a series of launch activities, inviting the local community, so they can all celebrate the expansion.
