With cameras capturing any and every imperfection, concealer is a must for the stars at Venice Film Festival, and the new launch from Westman Atelier is here to lend a hand
Nicole Kidman has been out in full force at Venice Film Festival, her blonde bombshell hair and luminous complexion firmly in situ. But it was her red-carpet look for the screening of Babygirl that caught our eye last week. Wearing a jewelled Schiaparelli couture gown, Kidman worked with make-up artist Gucci Westman on a beautifully fresh make-up look. The secret to skin so flawless? Westman’s new Vital Skincare Concealer, which launched this week.

“Nicole has such beautiful skin, so I used the concealer only where needed to maintain its integrity,” Westman tells Vogue. “It’s high coverage, self-setting and melts right into the complexion for an airy, supernatural finish. I love it because it evens skin tone, spot treats and sets flawlessly, so it never sits in pores or little lines. It’s my secret weapon, a finishing touch that makes skin look perfect.”
It’s also packed with hardworking skincare actives, including coffee leaf extract, gentian root, mini hyaluronic acid and peptides, all which work to brighten dark circles, depuff, smooth and firm, while also supporting the skin’s natural collagen levels. Clinical trials have also shown it reduces dark circles in just four weeks, making it a formula that many of us need in our bags (or clutches, if you’re on the go like Kidman).

Every red-carpet appearance requires make-up longevity, so Westman combined the concealer with some other Westman Atelier skincare heroes: namely the Vital Skincare Complexion Drops (to even out tone and deliver a dewy glow) and Vital Pressed Skincare Powder, to set make-up in place and take down shine.
A sweep of blush – Baby Cheeks in Minette – and lip colour later, and Kidman’s “ravishing yet effortless” look was good to go. “Gucci’s work is just like her personality.” Kidman enthuses. “Chic and effortless. I love the way she does my make-up, but I love the time we get to spend together while we’re getting ready just as much.”
