Yesterday evening Instagram shut down Copenhagen Fashion Week by treating a handful of designers and international guests to a private dinner at Noma
Noma and Instagram go together as well as a renowned, multi-course meal and a wine pairing, so it was only fitting that to close down Copenhagen Fashion Week, the beloved app welcomed a modest group of guests to dine at the foodie Mecca (an invite only made more extraordinary given that the restaurant will close its doors in just a few months). Hosted by Clara Cornet, who handles beauty and fashion partnerships at Meta, the intimate dinner was a decadent, relaxed contrast to the organised chaos of fashion week.
Seated at four-top tables in a private dining room tucked away in the back of the space, guests indulged in veggie season. Things kicked off with a hearty kohlrabi kebab, followed by a parade of courses, each more extraordinary than the last. There was frozen cheese (“cheese snow” as one diner called it) and grilled peas, jellied mushrooms and artichoke hearts. A new potato soup was served in an actual potato, drank through a straw.
The artistry on display was as technical and creative as some of the looks we saw come down the runway throughout the week. Fittingly, a handful of Danish designers who showed this season were in attendance – Nicklas Skovgaard, Alectra Rothschild and Amalie Røge Hove (all of which have participated in CPHFW’s New Talent program) – as well as some beloved designers we didn’t see on the schedule this time around (we’re looking at you, Ganni’s Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup).
With the dessert courses served (including a killer Magnolia popsicle) CPHFW had come to a stunning conclusion. How Long Gone podcaster Chris Black put it best: “I’m having the time of my life."
