This season, One & Other sought to offer Oslo Runway guests a closer, more personal encounter with its collection. "For the past two years, we've showcased our designs on the runway, but this year, we wanted a more personal and engaging presentation," explains creative director Lene Henriksen. "Our collections are centred on premium quality and craftsmanship, so we wanted to give guests the opportunity to see and feel the clothes up close."
Gathered in the brand's showroom – complete with charming hardwood floors and painted ceilings – guests indulged in both a delightful lunch and the delectable collection on display, featuring cow-print shearling coats, cropped leather jackets, and flower-embellished skirts. "This season, volumes, shapes, and fine materials come together, inspired by the minimalism of the 1990s, to emphasise a modern and contemporary lifestyle," says Henriksen.
Henriksen's collections always start with the fabrics, drawing much of their inspiration from the materials themselves. "In this collection, we've focused on 100% Tencel and natural materials such as cotton, silk, wool, linen, and leather," shares Henriksen. The brand has also experimented with new braiding techniques in leather and crochet, explored structured forms in silk organza, and introduced innovative tucking details in crisp cotton. Additionally, they’ve concentrated on making products more versatile, such as the three-in-one trench coat that can be worn as a maxi vest, a cropped jacket, or a full coat.
When asked about her favourite pieces, Henriksen highlights the aforementioned raffia-braided leather skirt and the three-in-one trench coat. "I always prioritise quality and fit over fast fashion and as a fashion statement," she says. "For several years, there has been an abundance of over-designed clothes in the market, and we wanted to create a collection of understated, wearable, and beautiful garments with clean lines and intricate details. It’s about real life and what people will genuinely wear."
