Few tricks of the sartorial trade are as impactful as single-shade styling. Wearing one colour top-to-toe shows considered confidence, be it in the form of quiet camel or head-turning neon. One luminary who frequently employs tone-in-tone styling is Swedish supermodel and former Vogue Scandinavia cover star Elsa Hosk.
As a purveyor of spellbinding aesthetics, Hosk bewitched fashion aficionados worldwide with her recent Instagram exploits, escaping to a sunny summer in Stockholm. During her visit, the model showcased her mastery of creamy whites and earthy browns in artfully colour-coded ensembles we’re keen to replicate.

Hosk’s mastery lies in her ability to weave tales of elegance with the most uncomplicated of threads. Take the low-slung stretch maxi skirt by Cham, for instance. Paired with a faded brown t-shirt by NotSoNormal and puffy Helsa Studio slides (designed by Hosk herself), the look epitomised laid-back sightseeing.
Staying at Nobis Hotel, Hosk continued her brown epos when getting dressed for her Stockholm date night with partner Tom Daly. Sporting stretchy The Attico jersey trousers and a double-breasted trench coat (a slightly surprising choice considering current Stockholm temperatures), Hosk refined the look with leopard-print Suite 105 velvet mules signed Saint Laurent.
Going beyond beiges and browns, Hosk’s latest post published on Instagram showcased the power of a monochromatic cream. While her bedazzled vintage Saint Laurent sweatshirt could hardly be considered understated, it was mellowed when paired with a matching miniskirt and white cap. However, the model’s stroke of sartorial genius lay in the details. Black Celine sunglasses, a Constance 23 bag by Hermès, and contrast-toe Chanel pumps juxtaposed the all-white outfit.

While, as we can all tell, Hosk has a soft spot for vintage and pre-loved pieces (The Constance 23, for example, was discontinued in 2009), we’ve scoured the internet for the items to shop in order to recreate her single-shade stylings ahead of our next city break.
